Monsignor O'Brien Highway Improvements

In order to develop Cambridge Crossing, DivcoWest is required to upgrade Monsignor O’Brien Highway.  The upgrades will transform it from a highway to a tree lined boulevard, provide bicycle lanes/cycle tracks, install new sidewalks and create better pedestrian crossings with a narrower curb-to-curb road dimension and longer duration walk signal intervals.

The first phase of Monsignor O’Brien reconstruction, from Third Street to Water Street, will take place starting this month and continuing through the end of the year. The work generally entails new median, paving, sidewalks, landscaping, signals and underground utilities.  McCourt Construction is the contractor for this project and CSL Consulting will be assisting with neighborhood communication and logistics.

While construction work hours would normally be from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, state restrictions on lane closures will mean that most work hours for this project will be 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The project team intends to make every effort to communicate construction activities and any potential disruptions to the area stakeholders.
